Template Designer Installation
This page provides detailed instructions on installing the Template Designer Microsoft Word add-in. We recommend using the downloaded installer execution file when completing your installation of Template Designer.
Unless you have a more complex requirements for your business scenario, we recommend using,Template Builder. If your are not certain, please contact your Experlogix account manager to confirm which tool you should use.
Template Designer Requirements
Make sure you have all the necessary requirements for running the add-in, please refer toTemplate Designer Requirements for more information.
Downloading Template Designer
The Experlogix Template Designer can be downloaded from your My Xpertdoc account. If you do not have an account, please reach out to our Customer Success Team.
Installing the Template Designer Add-In

Close all Word instances on your device. |
|
2.

Unblock the downloaded zip file. |
|

Right-click the file folder. |
|

|
Select Properties and then click on Unblock. |
|
3.
|
Unzip the compressed file. |
Do not run the setup.exe as an administrator because it installs the content in a user folder.
|
4.
|
Install the add-in by launching setup.exe. |
Where you extract your setup.exe should be a path of less than 50 characters. Avoid using Desktop, Documents or Downloads in the folder location as lengthens your installation path.
Installing Template Designer Manually
Under most circumstances we strongly recommend the automatic installation method. However, in some cases, you may want to install the Experlogix Template Designer Add-in offline. If so, please follow these steps after ensuring you have downloaded the Installer identified as the Offline one:

Close all Word instances on your device. |

2.

Unblock the downloaded zip file. |
|

Right-click the file folder. |
|
2.2.
|
Select Properties and then click on Unblock. |
|
3.
|
Unzip the compressed file to a folder that will never be deleted. |
It contains two registry files, one for 64 bits, one for 32 bits.

Unzip RegKeys.zip file. |
|
6.
|
Edit the proper file to update the below highlighted text with the folder path in which you unzipped the Offline package. |

7.
|
Double-click on the file to update the registry. |
